Job Title: School-Based Therapist

Location: Kennett Consolidated School District

Positions Available:

  • 1 Elementary School Therapist
  • 2 High School Therapists

Job Type: Full-time, Salaried with Benefits

Program: School-Based Therapy

Job Description:

Family Service of Chester County is seeking Master's level therapists for our School-Based Therapy program within the Kennett Consolidated School District. As a School-Based Therapist, you will provide individual and group therapy, conduct assessments and screenings, and collaborate with school staff and community providers. This role includes weekly individual and group supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group therapy to students.
  • Conduct assessments and screenings.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community providers.
  • Address suicidality and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision.

Schedule:

  • Follow the school calendar with summers off, except for the 5-week Extended School Year program.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with children or adolescents.
  • Comfortable working in a team setting.
  • Experience working in schools preferred.
  • Spanish-language skills preferred.

Internships

Family Service of Chester County has training affiliations with several area graduate schools and undergraduate social work programs, including Bryn Mawr College, Widener University, and West Chester University. Internships include:

  • Counseling
  • Case management for child abuse prevention
  • Nonprofit development (grants writing, fundraising, web writing)
