Have you ever seen the movie "The Peanut Butter Falcon?"
The story follows Zak, a young man with Down syndrome, who escapes from a care home to pursue his dream of becoming a pro wrestler. Along the way, he meets Tyler, a troubled fisherman, and the two form an unlikely friendship.
Despite Zak’s limitations, Tyler doesn’t treat him differently but believes in Zak’s aspirations and capabilities, showcasing a refreshing perspective on how we should treat people.
Tyler's transformation is equally compelling. Initially reluctant, he gradually becomes Zak's protector and friend, demonstrating profound compassion. Their bond transcends societal boundaries, highlighting the beauty of human connection.
This film is a testament to the power of empathy, compassion, and true inclusivity. It beautifully reminds us that everyone, regardless of their differences, deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.

Family Service was well represented at the Devon Horse Show as guests of KeyBank. Tyler Changaris, Director of Development, and Brian Biddulph-Krentar, Board Member, were able to meet the KeyBank team from around the county and share more about the mission of Family Service. We truly appreciate their hospitality and generosity towards Family Service, as well as their efforts to serve the community.
On June 6, we hosted a team from local KeyBank branches for their "Neighbors Make A Difference Day". We spent the afternoon painting the Supportive Housing Program offices in Coatesville!
