Words From Mark Butler – Executive Director
“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” – Booker T. Washington
When faced with a problem, how do you handle it? Do you view it as an obstacle or an opportunity? COVID-19 has shaken our country to it’s core. Despite the barriers, Family Service has adapted, adjusted, and bolstered our mission to continue impacting people.
While programs are the pathway, relationships are what drive change. Folks don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. It may be cliche but it’s truer than ever. Our team members authentically build relationships and create bonds which drive growth, community connections, and stronger families. Folks in our counseling program are thankful for our counselors for helping them deal with COVID-19 stress. The influx of referrals in the Supportive Housing program is a testament to this life sustaining program. Youth rely on support and guidance from case managers.
There are so many different tangible ways our team is helping folks thrive all over Chester county. We continue to innovate and brainstorm new ways to reach underserved populations. We appreciate you being on our team. We strive to provide justice and equality to our fellow neighbors! We hope these monthly emails are easy to read, insightful, and allows for you to see the real work that is being done.
Take care,
Mark Butler
P.S. – Thanks to all the essential workers in Chester County keeping us going!
