Upcoming Training - Oct 24 and Nov 7

August 4, 2025 · Family Service of Chester County

Family Service of Chester County is offering a two-part professional training series on healing early childhood trauma. The workshops — “Healing Early Childhood Trauma by Strengthening Family Bonds” and “Healing the Wounds of Family Disruption” — will be held at United Way of Chester County on October 24 and November 7, respectively, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The trainings are facilitated by Sarah Rosenthal, a mental health therapist and clinical supervisor at Family Service. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Tulane University and has experience as an adoption social work supervisor and college instructor. Rosenthal specializes in family-focused counseling with children and youth who are neurodivergent or have experienced developmental trauma, and is an adoptive parent herself.

Workshop 1 focuses on identifying developmental stages and applying strategies to strengthen family bonds. Workshop 2 builds on this foundation, teaching object relations theory and play-based healing strategies.

The trainings target mental health professionals, social workers, and those supporting children with developmental trauma. Coffee and refreshments will be provided. Registration is available with limited spaces.
