Stronger Relationships = Stronger Families | November 2026 Email Update

Talking to your children about drugs, peer pressure, and difficult decisions isn't always easy. Our Familias Unidas program gives Hispanic parents the tools to have those conversations, strengthen family relationships, and help their children make healthy choices.

This past year, 47 families and 117 individuals participated, with 96% of surveyed participants reporting improved family relationships.

But our work goes beyond what happens during a program session.

One mother we helped faced homelessness with her children. She needed a safe place for her family to stay and help putting food on the table. Our staff worked with community partners, including Family Promise, St. Rocco's Church, and Kennett Area Community Service, to connect her family with housing and food assistance.

Stories like hers remind me why the relationships we build matter. Families often face challenges that don't fit neatly into one program. When they know and trust our staff, they have someone to call and someone who can help them find the right support.

That's what Family Service is here to do: help families build healthier lives and connect them with the resources to move forward.

“I feel safe here.” Those four words capture exactly what we hoped to create at our Coatesville Counseling Center. This space was designed with a trauma-informed approach — to be more than just a place for counseling, but a refuge where children and families can feel safe, welcomed, and supported as they seek help. Watch the video below for a look inside the center and the heart behind this work. None of this would have been possible without the generous support of the Foxwynd Foundation and the Oak Tree Family Fund. We are incredibly grateful for their investment in the well-being of children and families in the Coatesville community.
