Hidden Hurt | October 2025 Email Update

As the leaves turn and October arrives, the holiday season draws near. For many, this is a time of joy, traditions, and family gatherings. Yet at Family Service, we also see the other side—the quiet struggles that touch so many in our community.

The holidays can amplify both the good and the hard. While some homes are filled with warmth, others face uncertainty about even the basics. Parents wonder how they will provide meals or gifts for their children. Families coping with loss, illness, or financial hardship feel the season’s pressures more keenly, and the weight of their struggles can feel isolating.

At Family Service, we believe no one should face those challenges alone. Our mission is to walk alongside families—to listen, to support, and to bring hope where it’s needed most. Sometimes that looks like counseling or case management. Other times, it’s providing a meal or a gift that reminds someone they are seen, valued, and cared for.

This season, your support can turn empathy into action. By joining us, you help families find stability, children experience joy, and neighbors feel the impact of kindness. Together, we can lift hearts, strengthen families, and bring light into homes and lives that need it most.

Stay safe,

Mark Butler, MS
