Foxwynd Foundation Awards $25,000 Grant to Launch Trauma-Informed Counseling Center in Coatesville

West Chester, PA — Family Service of Chester County announced receipt of a $25,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation to establish a new trauma-informed counseling center in Coatesville. This initiative will expand mental health access and create a welcoming space for individuals and families seeking support.

The Foxwynd Foundation DAF funded this donation, enabling the organization to bring counseling resources into the Coatesville community. The new center will provide “trauma-informed, culturally responsive counseling” with both in-person and telehealth services.

Executive Director Mark Butler stated: “This grant allows us to create a safe and supportive space where individuals and families can heal, grow, and strengthen their overall well-being.”

Bobby Gilchrist, Foxwynd Foundation Trustee, added that supporting this center reflects their commitment to helping individuals “rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, and resilience.”

The $25,000 will launch and equip the center, expand clinical capacity, and enhance trauma-informed care training. Family Service will simultaneously launch a matching campaign to engage community members and businesses in sustaining the effort.

For 78 years, Family Service has strengthened individuals and families through professional counseling and support programs, ensuring everyone — regardless of income — accesses quality mental health services.
