Young Adult Community Conferencing (YACC) encourages all adult members of the West Chester borough community to join YACC as a volunteer community representative.
If you have an interest in supporting college students and young adults—or if your neighborhood or workplace is impacted by rowdy behavior or noise, underage drinking, foul language, or property damage and vandalism—this is your opportunity to help students accept accountability for their actions.
As a community representative, you will work together with other volunteer representatives to form a community conference panel. You’ll be responsible for:
- engaging student and young adult offenders
- discussing their behavior
- sharing personal stories and perspectives on how alcohol-related offenses impact local neighborhoods, families, and the young adult him or herself, and
- helping to define a series of retributive tasks for the student to complete
YACC conferences take place one evening a month for 3 hours. Location: Family Service of Chester County.
We ask community representatives to consider volunteering for 1 year. This includes participating in training activities.
