To our Chester County Community, Families and Friends:
In some way or another, we have all been touched by the inexcusable death of George Floyd. Our communities of color continue to deal with racism and social injustice in disproportionate numbers EVERYDAY. This incident has evoked substantial emotion, trauma and pain for so many, and it is inherent for us to come together now.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” – MLK Jr.
Since 1947 Family Service of Chester County’s mission is to promote the well being of families and individuals and to advocate for change. Our longstanding history has created an organization that appreciates differences but doesn’t judge upon those differences. If we want to bring about “real” change, we have to raise awareness and move into “real” action together.
Family Service will continue this conversation and use this opportunity to learn and advocate for change in order that people of color and others are treated with the dignity and respect that is deserved. Please join us.
With Care and Concern,
