RSVP opens the door to a wide range of volunteer activities in Chester County. We offer opportunities for every skill level; across many, different areas of interest. Here is a brief list of the ways RSVP volunteers are serving today:
- Children: helping as tutors, mentors, school volunteers, and pen pals
- Adults: teaching English-as-a-Second Language, reading, computer, and job readiness skills
- Community Needs: serving at food cupboards, thrift shops, shelters, programs for special needs children, and in affordable housing programs
- Health Care: staffing and coordinating blood drives, providing caring support in hospitals, using professional medical skills to serve at clinics for uninsured people
- Community, Arts and Culture: serving as docents, giving educational and historical tours, leading programs, preserving and restoring photographs and artifacts, creating newsletters and organizing event publicity
- Consumer Education: teaching groups and individuals about healthcare benefits, Medicare, insurance fraud, and how to advocate for oneself or a loved one in long-term care environments
- Caring Neighbors: visiting elderly and shut-ins and providing transportation to Family Service Project ONE clients
